A lots of alike customs
Holidays in United Kingdom in a lots of aspects don’t differ in comparison with another lands. Here Nativity Scenes or services of carols are popular too. Residents of UK at December 24th eat Christmas dinner, but tradicional menu is different than in other lands. Time of looking forward to Santa Claus
In United Kingdom childrens also wait for Santa Claus. At the evening of December 24th kids hang up sockes or pillow-cases by the fire or kids’ beds. They know that Santa leave presents in those things, not near to Christmas tree like think children from other lands. Often children in United Kingdom are very caring – they prepare mince crumpets or brandy for Santa Claus to eat and to drink when he come to them. Currently it’s often alcohol-free drink due to Father Christmas has to drive his sled.

Every year, at second day of Christmas Britishers watch Queen’s Christmas Message. The tradition of a Christmas speech has its beginning before current Queen took the throne. The Speech of the Queen was important element in the procurement of popularity of the BBC on beginning of activity. The first speech was in 1932 and it was given by King George V. Queen in her messages tells about current problems of United Kingdom or other countries and says about her approach. It’s great summary of facts of the year and plans for the future. The Speech of the Queen is key element of every Christmas.
Every countries have own Christmas customs. The UK is not the exception in that respect, although a lots of Holidays traditions are transfered from other lands.
